A single registration and entry fee allows for participation by an individual associate in each of the Contests listed above. For each of the Contests, each registrant will be sent a Microsoft Teams meeting invite. Each registrant should log into the Teams meeting in advance of the Contest Period.

Contest Nos. 1 and 3 (First Letter Categories and Letter Scramble) will be conducted via Microsoft Teams and run by an assigned host/scorekeeper.

Sentry does not have access to the Kahoot! algorithms and, therefore, the score calculated and displayed by each player is final and cannot be challenged or re-calculated.

Following are the rules applicable to each of the above-listed Contests:

Contest No. 1: First Letter Categories

For each round, players will be provided with a random letter and must use that random letter as the first letter of words they choose that fit with five provided categories. The goal is to have a unique answer for each category that starts with the random letter provided for that round.

  1. Participants will have 60 seconds to produce five answers (one for each category) and send them to the scorekeeper via Teams IM.
  2. Each unique answer is awarded one (1) point. Zero (0) points are awarded if an answer duplicates the answer of another participant.
  3. Two (2) points are awarded if an answer is two (2) words both starting with the chosen random letter for that round.
  4. Adjectives do not count toward an award of two (2) points (for example, “blue ball” does not give a double letter score, but “Bouncy Ball” does since it is a specific (think brand name) item.
  5. Any and all scoring discrepancies or disputes will be decided by the host/scorekeeper, and the host/scorekeeper’s decision is final.
  6. Each participant’s total points for the contest will be added to result in a final score.  The three highest scoring participants in rank order at the end of the contest will represent the first-, second- and third-place winners.

Contest No. 2: Name that Sound

This contest will be conducted via Kahoot! (kahoot.it).

  1. Different sounds will be played via the Kahoot! platform.

  4. Scoring is determined and tracked by Kahoot!, and Kahoot!’s scoring is final.
  5. Kahoot! will provide each participant with a unique nickname for play.  At the end of the contest, the top three nicknames will be displayed in rank order on the screen.  The three highest scoring participants in rank order at the end of the contest will represent the first-, second- and third-place winners.  If your nickname is displayed, please message Tiffany Walloch with what your game nickname was.  This will help keep it more of a surprise on who the winners are until they are announced.

  3. Assembled words must be made up of letters on the board tile for that round; letters can only be used once.
  4. Singular and plural forms of the same word will only be counted once.
  5. Each round will allow 90 seconds to come up with as many words as a participant can.
  6. Participants must send their words to the assigned host/scorekeeper to earn points before the timer runs out.
