NBC – Golf Channel analyst

Mark Rolfing, one of golf’s most versatile TV personalities, has spent more than 30 years promoting the sport.  Rolfing is instrumental during NBC & Golf Channel’s tournament broadcasts, Live From the Major Championships, and Golf Central studio shows.  USA Today has named Rolfing “Golf’s best on-course commentator.”

Expansive reach and marketing accolades

A native of DeKalb, IL, Rolfing is a sports enthusiast.  He graduated from DePauw University in Greencastle, IN, in 1971 and also earned a Masters Degree from Northern Illinois University in 1973.  Following a professional playing career, Rolfing moved to Maui and served as Director of Marketing at Kapalua Resort.  His efforts to develop Kapalua’s Plantation Course and host the PGA Tour’s Sentry Tournament of Champions earned him induction into the Hawaii Golf Hall of Fame.  He created Rolfing Sports in 1985, and has produced a variety of major events from golf tournaments to college basketball’s Maui Classic.  Additionally, Rolfing leads the Chicago Parks Golf Alliance; spearheading restoration and expanded youth programs at the Park District’s Jackson Park & South Shore Golf Courses in partnership with Tiger Woods’ TGR Design.

In January 2016, Rolfing returned to broadcasting after a bout with stage four salivary gland cancer.  He currently serves as a golf ambassador for MD Anderson Cancer Center, advocating for sun safety and cancer prevention among the golf community. 

PGA Distinguished Service Award - 2017

Since 1999, the Mark and Debi Rolfing Charitable Foundation has cared for 28 foster children, in addition to supporting numerous other children’s charities.  In November 2017, the PGA of America honored Mark and his wife Debi with golf’s Distinguished Service Award, recognizing those who advance humanitarian interests through the game.  Prior recipients have included Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino; and Presidents Gerald Ford, George H.W. Bush, and Bill Clinton.
